When you hear that the restaurant is called “Burger Bueno” you would think that it serves Mexican styles burgers. Well, Burger Bueno is actually a Greek restaurant. So are they serving Greek burgers? No, they are serving American style hamburgers. So they have a Mexican name, a Greek ownership and serve American hamburgers? Yes, only in America will you find a restaurant like this.

This was a “hole-in-the-wall” kind of place. There was a small corner restaurant with 12 high tables or so. The kitchen was small, but they actually had a flame broiled grill to cook burgers on.

Burger Bueno actually have a few items on their menu that was Greek, but they are mostly known for their excellent and huge burgers.

After studying the menu I selected to go “small” with a Bacon Cheese Burger. I saw they had the House Cheese Burger and the Ultimate Cheese Burger that supposedly were bigger, but I still went for the smaller burger. They asked how I wanted the burger done which was a nice touch in a small place like this. They made their burgers from fresh meat but the fries were made from frozen.

The service was quick even though there were only a few behind the counter and in the kitchen.

The wait was only 7-8 minutes and they actually served them at the table (some had to go up and get their order though). I was happy I ordered one of their smaller burgers! This thing was HUGE. It was a 1/2 lbs patty but the bacon and the greens made this burger 3 inch tall and 5 inch wide. It was enormous! I wondered how much bigger this thing can get.
The meat was cooked to medium as requested and they’ve added lots of bacon to the burger. The meat was very good and I could easily taste that the burger was flame broiled. It was well seasoned with salt and black pepper and was very juicy.
The greens were fresh and the bun was sturdy and enabled me to control the burger. Even though they added all this to the burger I could still taste the cheese. It was a very good burger and there was so much of it.
The fries were just above average. No special seasoning on the fries and they were like you would expect from a average frozen fry from a bag.

Burger Bueno looks like a place you don’t want to visit. They are located next to a super busy highway intersection and the stores in the area are low-end stores, so you would think they would carry mediocre food at best, but I was pleasantly surprised. They make excellent burgers and they will fill anyone even with a healthy appetite. I really enjoyed my burger and I will definitely be back for another burger another day.
