Burgerology: Sliders

When I am talking sliders, I am not referring to baseball pitching but to this wonderful burger creation called a slider. A slider is a small, sometimes square, hamburger with onions and cheese, and was originally popularized by White Castle, but now many restaurants carry variations of the popular slider.

Small pieces of heaven

Sliders feature a burger cooked on top of onions on a griddle. The onions infuse taste to the meat as they cook and that’s what makes it a slider, not merely the size. Since White Castle’s concept involves serving a meal as several smaller burgers the slider is a small burger.

A real slider only features the meat, bun, onions, cheese and sometimes pickles. It is as simple as that! If you go to a restaurant and get a slider with more than that it is really not a slider but rather a mini hamburger.

Sliders, yum

Sliders are just so delicious. They are so basic and so simple that the taste of the meat, onions and cheese get the front seat and makes the eating experience exceptional. A little piece of burger heaven.
