Burguesa is advertising Mexican burgers and supposedly they are authentic. I am not sure there is such a thing as an authentic Mexican burger, but I sure wanted to give it a try.
Their menu was pretty straightforward with three burgers: Burguesa, Burguesa with cheese, La Monumental, and La Monumental Jr. La Monumental is built from the bottom up with cheese, patty, cheese, patty, ham, tostado, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado and finally their special creamy sauce. On the very top of the burger is a whole jalapeno pepper. Bon appetite!
Prices were all including tax, which was unusual. La Monumental was only $6.25, which is very cheap and it’s $2.50 to make it a meal with fries and a drink. I guess they don’t pay a lot of rent in this place.
I ordered the La Monumental and I was asked if I would like it spicy or not. I asked for mine spicy.
The burgers came within five minutes and they were wrapped in aluminum foil to keep them warm. The fries were super hot right out of the oil. They came with their special creamy sauce on the side.
The sauce was a little spicy and very tasty. The fries were so super crisp and seasoned to perfection.
After taking the first bite, you can tell this is a Mexican inspired burger. The tostado was crisp and the avocado and especially the special sauce made you think of Mexico. It is not super spicy, but there was a little kick to this burger you won’t get in a traditional burger in any other restaurant. The patties were thin like at McDonald’s and Burger King, but they claim that they use never frozen beef for their burgers.
The burger was juicy and had a lot of condiments on it. I most admit I liked this burger. It was different than any other burger I have had up till now and in a good way. I wouldn’t say it was very spicy, so if you like spicy food, you may asked them to make it super spicy when you order it.
I recommend the burgers at Burguesa, so if you are in their neighborhood swing by and get a burger.
