Cheesecake Factory is an upscale restaurant and that is also reflected on their prices. This is not a cheap place to get a great burger. Their menu is large and in my opinion everything in this restaurant is very good and freshly made.
They have recently launched their “glamburgers”, a more elaborate selection of burgers than they have had before. I know that their classic cheeseburger is probably one of the best ones I have had, but I was anxious to try some of their new creations.
Some of the new burgers on their menu were Kobe Burger, Memphis Burger and a Blue Cheese BLT Burger. See the menu picture for more options.
My guest and I chose a Kobe Burger and a Memphis Burger. The Kobe Burger is pretty straight forward with sautéed mushrooms and onions. The Memphis burger has slow roasted BBQ pork, cheddar, cole slaw, pickles and mayo. Both were ordered cooked to medium. The Kobe Burger was made with American Kobe (Wagyu) meat and priced at $12.95. The Memphis burger was priced at $10.95. This is definitely prices on the higher end of the scale so the expectations were high.
The wait was 10 minutes and while we waited we were served fresh warm bread and butter.
The burgers and fries came piping hot and looked wonderful. We got half a burger each so we could taste both. First I must say, that the fries were fantastic. Seasoned perfectly, super hot and crisp like no other fries I tasted. They were almost perfect.
The Kobe was unfortunately cooked to medium well and you really never want a kobe burger cooked to anything more then medium. It was good, but the kobe beef never made the impression it was supposed to. It tasted like an ordinary burger and the only thing that made this burger above average was the onions and mushrooms. I would never order the Kobe Burger again.
It was a whole other story with the Memphis burger. The slaw, the BBQ sauce and the pulled pork made this burger excitingly different. The sweetness was not overpowering and the slaw cooled it down a little bit so the taste of the pork came through. It was juicy, tender and super tasty. It was magical.
I will have this burger again some day. This is also the burger I rated for this review.
If you like a good hamburger and want it at a decent price you don’t want to go to Cheesecake factory. This restaurant is a place you go on special occasions or with clients to make a good impression.
