This is a great burger with homemade BBQ sauce and shoestring onion rings. I also added bacon and smoked cheddar to this burger. Any cowboy would love that!
Makes 4 burgers
Ingredients
2 lbs of ground Angus chuck (80% lean)
8 slices of smoked cheddar
1/2 cup of BBQ sauce
8 slices of crisp cooked bacon
4 soft burger buns
1 portion of shoestring onion rings
salt and pepper
Instructions
- Shape 4 burgers, 1/2 lbs each. Season with salt and pepper
- Cook burgers to desired doneness. When you flip the burgers add the cheese to allow it to melt
- Toast the buns under the broiler in the oven or in a toaster
- Assemble the burger
- Add bacon to the button bun. Add patties with cheese
- Slather BBQ sauce on each burger (save some for the top bun)
- Add onion rings
- Smear BBQ sauce on each top bun
- Serve right away
