This is a burger place in a very popular area of Plano, TX, so I expected this to be very busy. Before you are entering the place you are greeted with signs saying that they are using Angus Beef, no trans fats and home made fries from Idaho made from Idaho potatoes. It all sounds very promising.

Their menu contains burgers, sandwiches and salads. I ordered the double cheese burger with bacon (of course). That was the biggest one they had; it contains two 1/3 lbs patties with cheese and three pieces of bacon.
There is a soft drink fountain and a salad bar from where you actually dress you own burger with you choice of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard, pico de gallo etc.

Once you have ordered, they give you a small basket of home made potato chips. The chips taste too much of oil, which indicates to me that they are not using fresh oil (at least not for the chips we got).

The wait was very short, maybe five minutes, probably because it was almost empty. Being that this was in the middle of lunch hour and on a Friday, it was a bit depressing. They brought the burgers to our table and then you would go and dress it yourself.

The burger looked very good and the bacon was very impressive. After dressing it with tomatoes, onion, pickles, mayo, mustard and ketchup I was ready for the first bite.

The burger was juicy and pretty good. I must admit that I had expected more from the Angus meat, but it was just good, nothing special.  The bacon was thick and very tasty, probably the best thing on the burger. Over all the burger was just above average.

The fries were not good at all. Being that this is supposed to be home made fries from Idaho potatoes they failed miserably! They were soft at best, soggy at worst. I think they didn’t par boil them enough (or maybe not at all). Read how you should make great fries here. I had a few, just for the purpose of this review, but the rest went in the bin. Very disappointing.

I will recommend D&A burgers for their burgers. Get them with bacon and cheese, but stay away from their fries. Hopefully you will get some better chips than we got, because I think they could be pretty good if they would use fresher oil for them.
