I have been watching many cooking shows like Top Chef and Iron Chef America and I often see the chefs make deconstructed this and deconstructed that. So, as the Burger Doctor, I thought it would be applicable for me to join the bandwagon and make a deconstructed burger and fries.
So what exactly does “deconstructed” mean in relations to a meal? It essentially means that you take the main ingredients from the meal and let them come together on the plate to make the “constructed” meal that we are used to or something close to that.
The first thing I decided was to use a beef patty for my burger. I also wanted to add an egg, because that is delicious and makes up for some of the sauce you expect on a burger. The fries were going to be made from fingerling potatoes that were boiled, halved and finally pan fried crisp and brown.
I also wanted to add peppers and onions and finally add a nice cheddar cheese also.
The burger turned out to be so delicious that I am going to create a few more deconstructed burgers in the future.
