This is an Australian inspired restaurant and bar located in the new mall in Fairview, TX.
The menu features a “build your own burger” option, but I was drawn towards specialty burger called the Ripsnorter Works Burger. It’s a 1/2 lbs burger served Aussie style with ham, cheddar cheese, a fried egg, grilled pineapple, thin sliced beet root, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion. Served with Aussie fries. So a lot of Aussie in the entire meal. The waitress asked how I wanted the burger cooked and I asked for it medium rare as usual.
The wait was a good 15 minutes. The burger came out and it was tall and wide and big! The burger was very tasty. I am not a big fan of pineapple in a burger but they forgot to put it in. That was fine with me since I would have take it out any way. I also didn’t find any beet in this burger, which was also fine by me. The burger was cooked perfectly medium rare. Nice! The ham and the bacon combination was awesome and tasteful. The meat was juicy and had a good grilled meaty taste. The fries egg was very small and I am sure the burger could have done without it without missing anything. It was really a good burger. I am not sure what constituted the Aussie part of the burger because it was very American to me. It even had dill pickles, which wasn’t advertised on the menu.
The fries were good solid frozen fries. Again there was really nothing Aussie about them (not that I even know what that means). They were just like you get them other places.
All in all this was a great burger. It was not as advertised in the menu (no pineapple or beet, but with pickles) but I didn’t care. If you are particular about the menu, you might be disappointed, but I wasn’t.
