Take a trip with us, if you will, back in time. We’re rewinding to April 2nd. Bonus points if you remember that particular date as being the one after our engagement*.

Good Stuff Eatery is Spike Mendelsohn’s burger joint; he was a contestant on season 4 of Bravo’s Top Chef reality show. This wasn’t our first visit – we’ve been before (I thought March, B thought January. Maybe B was right.) but had taken cell phone pictures only, and promptly forgotten to blog. Wow, we used to be horribly late bloggers, didn’t we? Used to be.

We were hungry.

So hungry, I was too eager to wait until the food was actually out of the bag.

Brian ordered Colletti’s Smokehouse – a burger topped with applewood bacon, sharp Vermont cheddar, and chipotle barbeque sauce. Usually it includes fried Vidalia onion rings, but Brian turned those down.

I got a Farmhouse cheeseburger – just a regular burger topped with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, and Good Stuff sauce.

Good Stuff (which I always slip up and refer to as “Good Burger”) has an amazing selection of mayonnaise. I guess you’re supposed to slather it on your burger, but Brian and I dip our fries in them. Don’t be grossed out! Check this selection:

Old Bay, Sriracha, Chipotle, Mango… mmm.

We get ketchup too, just to add color.

It’s a good setup!

Hey… Brian likes it…

Good Stuff also has amazing shakes. Both times, I have gotten the fudge-laden Black and White milkshake, while Brian sticks with Toasted Marshmallow.

Umm… I don’t think that photo pose is going to catch on…

Yes, he shot the marshmallows at me one by one after the photo was taken. I mercifully dodged the first one, but the second one got me in the ear as I was doing a victory dance.
