Hooters is not exactly known for their burgers, but rather for their wings. I am not a qualified Wing Doctor, so I was not trying to judge their wings. Instead I was going for their burgers. I tried them before and the ones that are set on the menu have always been pretty mediocre, so I was going for the one that I put together myself. I chose to add pepper jack cheese and bacon, along with sauteed onions. Keeping it simple is often the way to go. I asked for it to be cooked medium. I also asked for their fries, which are curly fries and pretty good.

The burger came and looked pretty decent. The meat was cooked medium well and was surprisingly juicy. I suspect they use a high fat content around 20-25% to make them this juicy. There was a good meaty taste to this burger. The sauteed onions was the best of all the things I added. The cheese was pretty tasteless and the bacon was only okay and nothing special.

Their fries are really good. Crisp and curly. I really enjoyed them.

The make-it-yourself burger is actually pretty decent here. The set menu burgers are not recommended. Just put it together like you like it and you should be fine.
