I reviewed Sonic’s loaded burgers back in October of 2010 (see here) and now they have released two new burgers that I wanted to review.
First burger is the Blazin’ BBQ Loaded Burger. Per Sonic’s website this is “It’s a heat stroke of genius. A 100% pure beef patty topped with crispy jalapeno strips plus sliced jalapenos, bacon, Pepper Jack cheese, sweet and spicy habanero and hickory BBQ sauces, lettuce, and ripe tomato on a toasty bakery bun. That ought to melt heartstrings.”
Second burger is The Ring Leader Loaded Burger: “It’s unbridled onionry. A 100% pure beef patty topped with a handmade onion ring, piled high with grilled onions, crisp bacon, Natural Cheddar cheese, lettuce, ripe tomato and mayo on a toasty bakery bun. Welcome to the Onion Dome.”
The Blazing BBQ burger was the first one I tried. The burger is very spicy. The jalapenos/habaneros are actually very hot and not for people that don’t like hot foods. The BBQ sauce is too sweet for my taste. It even has a hint of Indian spice that I dislike a lot. Had it not been for the BBQ sauce I would have loved this burger. So the overall review is that this was an okay burger.
The Ring Leader burger was pretty boring. There was really nothing bad or good about this burger. It was solid and heavy, but nothing distinct to talk about. I would rate this as a boring average burger.
The Super Sonic burger is still better than any of the loaded burgers above.
