Red Robin is a burger franchise located in several states and are know for their gourmet burgers. I was going here for the first time so I was of course going to try out their top rated burger.
The first thing I noticed in this restaurant was the full bar located in the middle of the restaurant. You rarely find this in any burger franchise in the US. In todays economy this is probably making a big difference to the revenue of this restaurant. Well, it was lunch time so the bar was pretty much empty.
Their menu has almost one full page of burger and only burgers. From the pricing I could tell that I was in for a different experience than other burger franchises because their pricing were at the higher end of the scale, with burger meals ranging from $8.49 to $9.99. The fries that comes with the burger are “bottom-less” meaning they will keep giving you more until you are full.
I ordered the Royal Red Robin Burger, which is a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg. I was asked how I wanted it cooked, which is a question you never get at a burger franchise, except here. I ordered mine medium, but was not expecting it to be cooked other than well done (that happens more times than not at other places).
The burger came within 10 minutes which was pretty good. It was partially wrapped in paper so that you could grab and eat it more easily. I must say it looked very good for a chain made burger. The burger was cooked perfect medium which was very impressing because it is just not easy to do at burger restaurants everywhere else. The bacon was subtle but tasty and the cheese was melted perfectly. many argue for and against putting fried egg on a burger. Personally I thing it’s great so I was also enjoying the egg that was on this burger. The burger has a very clean taste of burger and not of too many condiments that dilutes the taste of the meat. Very good!
The fries were the steak fries type and was just your normal average fries. Nothing special about them.
I think Red Robin makes great burgers and probably one of the best burger I have had from a major franchise chain. The only other chain I think that can come up with a similar good burger would be Five Guys, but their concept is much simpler than Red Robin. Red Robin is an upscale burger restaurant with waitstaff and great burgers. It is a place to take your family or friends for a night out for dinner and drinks.
How to reach this restaurant?
