This is a “hole-in-the-wall” sports bar in a strip mall in Plano, TX. The menu was very “sport-bar” friendly with the traditional items you would expect in an establishment like this.

Their burger menu was not large, just a few burgers. I ended up ordering the Mushroom Bacon burger with cheese. The burger was cooked to order so I asked for it medium rare. I usually end up ordering any burger medium rare since most places cook it well-done anyway, so I just wanted to make sure it was not burned completely.

The wait for the burger was a little long, maybe 15 minutes. When the burger came out I was in shock! The burger was actually cooked medium rare. That is not very often that happens. I could tell that the burger was definitely cooked from fresh ground beef. There was no way it could have been frozen. The burger was a 1/4 lbs burger and considering the smaller size of the patty, it was very impressive they were able to make this burger so well.
The meat was grilled wonderfully and the cheese, bacon and mushrooms were fantastic flavorful. The burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a few months. One issue I had with this burger was that it had mustard on it. That was a big mistake and I may have missed it on the menu. I would order it without mustard next time. The mustard was definitely a big minus, but since I didn’t catch it I will nor discredit the restaurant for that mistake, however I would encourage the chef to know better than putting mustard on this kind of burger.
I would rate this burger a solid 8 with the mustard and a solid 9 without the mustard.
The chips that came with the burger looked homemade but was pretty bland. The ketchup that was served with the chips was too sweet. Not sure what brand they used but I would change to a less sweet brand.
I was very impressed with their burgers and would definitely recommend The End Zone for a future burger.
